Nettleton celebrates 125-year milestone Saturday

NETTLETON – Nettleton will be celebrating its 125th anniversary downtown on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
Cake for 200 people will be served along with entertainment from local churches and a rare video made in Nettleton during the 1950s.
This event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Veterans Memorial Park planned for the city-owned lot next to the Gilmore Clinic at Will Robins Highway and West Main Street. Inscribed pavers for the park will be sold and donations will be accepted.
The Nettleton Fire Department will sell hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments to raise money for the Friends of Nettleton Parks and Recreation fund, which goes to fund future children’s activities and parks.
In preparation for the event, a citywide clean up took place on Oct. 19. For more information, contact Paul Waddle at  963- 3689 or city hall at 963-2605.
